Moderator - this thread was about an eBay auction that has since vanished but some posts contained good generic data and are thus retained.
Not on a cut glass piece, but I saw a label today at GBA which said OBAN Made in Scotland. I've not come across OBAN labels before... are they still in business or not?

Oban opening
Caithness Glass are planning to start a new glasshouse at Oban this summer. Their chief designer, Charles Orr, has developed a new decorative technique for what is to be known as Oban Glass. This is an extension of the casing technique (in which one coloured metal is super-imposed on another) by applying thin stripes of carefully chosen colours to the hot ball. The innovation is simple in its present form but can be extended as the blowers gain experience.

A different stripe
Under chief designer Charles Orr, Caithness Glass have added to their Oban range of decorated glass (DESIGN 254/63). The new shapes retain the chunkiness of the earlier designs, but the colours are firmer and stronger. Approximate retail prices: tall vase in foreground (£3.50): 4in bowl (£3 each)
