Title: White glass baskets with amber glass vine trim
Post by: barry lakeman on November 02, 2012, 02:25:37 PM
We have had a trio of glass baskets in the family for a long time. Please can someone tell me their date and origin. I assume that they are Victorian, possibly Staffordshire.

Welcome to the board. We need pictures to help you please: a minimum of a side shot and a base shot. Not sure there was much glass made in Staffordshire! Stourbridge or Bohemia sound much more likely

Picture help here. http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html

You can post four images per answer of up to 120kb each

Sorry, the picture I inserted was too big, so have resized. There are no manufacturer's markings whatsoever. There is nothing on the base, for which I do not have a picture yet.

Victorian almost certainly. I haven't seen this shape before but I think I would favour English over Bohemian. Do you have a UV light to test whether they are uranium glass?

I do not have one, but will ask around.
