Title: Tapered cut Candlestick?
Post by: yesvil on October 13, 2012, 02:24:39 PM
This is the sort of thing I pick up in charity shops knowing I've never seen the like of it before and wondering is there is any significant age to it.

I'm not even sure it's a candlestick - anyone wants to put me straight?

It looks like a wine glass or somesuch that's been very carefully decapitated. It's not a candlestick

HI ,
1/2 a champagne flute would be my thought. a fun thing to do is measure the foot width then hold 2 rulers either side of the bowl get someone else to move another ruler up till you achieve the same width as the foot(if you can follow that !) this will show you a close approximation of how tall it was before its visit to Madame Guillotine.

cheers ,

   Peter.
