My parents have been having a bit of a clear-out, and a set of six of these glasses were found lurking in a dusty corner.
It's not really my field, so I thought I'd post it here... Is this a AHW 'Slim Jim'? It's transfer printed with 'England' on the side. The design is dark burgundy and orange. My parents are fairly sure they've had them since at least 1965 when they bought their first house.

Thanks, as always.

Hi, Nic.
Yup - it's a Ravenhead slim jim. Screen-printed, not transfer to be precise. ;)
Here is the same design on the chunkie shape: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-7323 (http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-7323).
Interesting - I've not come across very many designs used on more than one shape.
Are you selling?
-
I'm always getting told off for calling it transfer-printing. You would have thought I'd have learned by now! ;D
I phoned my parents to ask if they'd like to sell, but they want to hold on to them for the time being because they like them.
But if you wanted any high-res photographs, I'd be happy to send them. :)
-
Ah well, if they ever change their minds...
Permission to use the pic on the website would be great - when I find the time to make some progress on it... I'll hold off on the high-res version for the moment, thanks - my computer's already groaning under the weight of AHW images!
-
No problem - use away! :)

Seems Portmerion have revived this design sometime in the recent past - saw a box of them at a car boot this weekend. The 'England' part has been excised from the print and the box announced they were made in Taiwan.

Here is another on the Chunkie shape with a few friends, the two in the middle are Coolers (4 of them have England on).
