Title: whitefriars bowl?
Post by: RAY on June 29, 2008, 01:18:13 PM
well the only piece of glass i got today, just wondering if it's whitefriars, i've looked in my WF book but no mention of a 6 sided bowl only one's with 5 side's and a folded rim, the colour of mine is amber gold, it measures 10" across and 3.5" high and very heavy

There is a lot of controversy over this point, we were having a discussion at an exhibition of W/Fs and someone brought this up,i stuck to my guns and using the two books and some exhibition pieces i believe i convinced the others there are 4,5,and 6 lobed bowls if you include the Dunne Cooke pieces. I believe yours is a William Wilson bowl. but i have just had a liquid lunch.
