Post by: Andy on March 20, 2008, 04:21:17 PM
I know its a bit busy here, just got some super new bits, sorry im gonna make it a bit busier,
but i guarantee you will all love  most of it!

Here is a little fishy, the only thing wrong with him is it should have Lalique on it ,
but its not signed!

Any ideas?

I've got that same beast in orange with nibbled fins and it took me 15 years asking around before I gave up. I gave up. No ID coming 4ward....

Aquarium for sure, we even have a cage for the human animal :mus: , had to introduce that after the figural bottles got emptied... a safe for jewellery and a garden for food and plants. It has become a rest home for all figural glass.

Expecting a burst of population growth in the next week...

Reminds me of Desna?

Desna sounds good, ive just googled and wow :o  some of their quite recent stuff is fantastic.
Ivo, did you rule out Desna?
Frank, are photos ok for the Zoo? need any more?
Im sure this is 1920s/30s, its got a couple of small chips to the base, nothing big enough to
remove a r lalique mark tho!
Maybe its a part of something larger? maybe its had a bit of repair to the base? and lost signature?

Ivo, have you still got piccie of your Orange one?

Cheers,
Andy

(ps im a fisherman, and its the nicest carp ive seen , i had its brother/sister in a tank a few years ago)

Aha!  I did wonder if there had once been something in the eyes of Andy's fish!  I wondered from his picture if it might have been some sort of gilding.  Now I see Ivo's fish I understand!

I presume they aren't really 'diamonds', Ivo?  ;)

The detail on the fishy in question just does not seem to be up to Lalique standards.  It has that big mold line running down the entire length of it's back.  I just can't envision Lalique putting out a product that has that apparent of mold work on it.  just my 2c.

Youre right of course, ive just looked through all the glass fish on ebay, theres some
ugly looking brutes on there! At least these ones are lifelike, and i think , pretty early 20thC in date.

while in troubled water, this one was identified as Ferjac, French from the 1930s. It took a long time before it was ID'd...

Here are two photos of a fish I bought at the Cambridge Glass Fair a couple of years ago.
Does anyone have any idea who might have made it?  I have shown a picture of the base which is polished with no marks.
Frank let me know if you would like me to email photos to you.
