Title: Pink Pressed Glass Cheese Dish
Post by: robbo on March 15, 2006, 08:12:14 PM
Hi,
I wondered if any of the pressed glass experts (or anyone else  ) knew this one (I think a cheese dish rather than butter?) that I picked up a couple of days ago. It has a very chunky feel and typical "art deco" styling (I'm assuming 1930sish).

I found a listing on eBay, which looks the same, described as "depression cut glass". My dish is certainly not cut glass.

eBay item 7391585822 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7391585822)

Grateful for any help!

Pamela,
Thanks for your reply—here's another I've just found, described as "Sowerby", but no reference—

I did see another cheese dish yesterday, clear glass, chipped (so I didn't buy!) the lid was different (but with a similar feel), the base from the same mould as the pink one.
