Can some kind person ID this vase for me.
-
It could be from the Tornado range by Tamara Aladin, although I'm not sure there is a range, but it might be a starting point
-
I'm sure I've seen this in one of my books but unfortunately I've lent a few out to my sister in law so I can't check them right now.
-
Me too, will try and remember to have a proper look tonight
-
Can't find it but the deep aquamarine was a Riihimaki colour
-
Thanks for your help.
I have seen it somwhere but I have had every book off the shelf to no avail.
In my mind I keep getting glimpses of the page it's on but it just wont register, must be getting old.
-
I feel this is more likely to be Aseda..there's something about the way the colour stops abruptly at the foot that makes me think Bo Borgstrom....
Or even SEA ..???
-
Tamara Aladin is the designer and the manufacturer is Riihimäki.
Few links where to find Lots of Glass designed by tamara. Unfortunately the pages are in finnish. (Riihimäki is in Finland)

I don't see this vase on either of those sites ? :-\
-
I should add, I'm not unwilling to believe is it Riihimaki and by Tamara Aladin, just stylistically, the flat square edged foot, which looks applied, is unlike any Tamara Aladin, or Riihimaki I have seen.
Sure, there are similarities to Riihimaki pieces, including the Hurricane vases- but they have a rounded edge to the foot, which is much thicker, and the transition in the casing is more organic and softer...
-
I seem to have caused some confusion as this piece does not have a foot as such, I took the photo on an upturned plastic container and the cicular rim is from this container. The vase is blown as one and the colour is uniform throughout.
-
AH! I was confused ! :D
Definitely not Rihimaki then, probably Swedish, had other uncased pieces in this colour, but notthis style..one had a 'Swedish Art Glass' label.

I was also labouring under the misapprehension that it had a clear glass foot!!!! I agree with Robert - probably not Finnish then.

Haven't seen this from any swedish maker. I would rule out scandinavia alltogether.
