This little duck of mine is also Ngwenya Glass.  It has the same label as the OP's, but on its base.

It's 3cm tall and 5.5cm long.  I also have one of their rhino's, but not sure which cabinet it's in atm.  ::)

« Last post by justjeff on Today at 08:16:27 PM »
Hi all. Would love someone to help ID this 6 1/2" tall vase. It is signed on the bottom with "VW 2014". Anyone recognize the initials or style? Thanks for any help!

Glass / Re: Registered Designs and Design Lookup Requests

yes, I agree with the date of July '34 - probably around the middle possibly.            It's absence from the Glass Association Blue Book is most likely for the usual reason that this item has been allocated to a different design CLASS - probably CLASS IV.
I shall be at Kew - for reasons other than glass next week - so will collect details of this Regn. assuming I can locate this one in the records.

Is Ailurophile able to tell us how this particular design has surfaced  -  is it possible for us to see a picture of the piece?

It would be July 1934 but it's not in the Blue Book nor on the Great Glass number listing, so we'll need to wait for Paul.

Hi,
thanks for your comments, my initial thoughts were of an American pattern it does not light up with a uv torch.
The only similarities with others I have is with this Molineaux and Webb one, they both have gadroons and pimples? Sorry my knowledge of how to describe these pieces is still in its infancy.
Kind regards
