Title: PINK WALTHER CLOCK.
Post by: mrs vulture on August 06, 2010, 03:08:44 PM
Hi Hope no one minds but I wanted to show off my Walther clock that I bought today from a car boot on the way to the beach with the kids. Its in beautiful condition and the clock keeps good time. I've never seen one before, are there many about? Do they come in other colours?     Cheryl

Ooohhhh that is lovely Cheryl!

Pamela has some clocks in her museum in several colours... pink, blue, green, & possibly amber I think were the main colours:

I knew somebody would like it as much as me,  it was only £10 so I snatched it up. I love it. ;D   Cheryl

Congratulations Cheryl, very well done!   :hiclp:  The pink of yours looks even more intense than mine, it's lovely!
Certainly it's a rare item!
More than ten years ago I saw an uranium one on a Japanese website - seemed they didn't know the maker at that time. Never saw it in blue or white; Nigel's amber is of course closest to nature  ;D

I know it was a bit cheeky of me but I acually knocked the price down ,  ;D he wanted £15 for it, he seemed very pleased to take the £10, I wasn't at all sure who the maker was or the value  at the time but I knew I loved it, Its now pride of place in my cabinet. My hubby is threatening to put it on Ebay so I have to be nice to him!!! :24: An amber one would be lovely, I love amber glass myself, it looks nice displayed together with all the different shades.   I had a lovely day yesterday, good bargain and a paddle in the sea afterwards.  Cheryl

Hi Cheryl
You got it for an excellent price! Mine was £150 from a glass dealer at the large fairs but I still thought it was good price as I so wanted it!
Would loved to have seen a green one! Most of my Walther glass is in pink it seems I come across that colour more than any other.
I have a few Walther clocks 2 Relief clocks,3 Windsor clocks,a Waltraut clock and the amber lion clock.
Wish I had been at that boot sale haha!

Cheryl doesn't!  >:D

My Walther is all green, naturally, though I did sell a pink Waltraut clock. I have yet to find a Walther green clock I am prepared to afford, cheapskate that I am.

The buzz you get from a bargain is fantastic!
I bought a lovely Walther Astoria pink trinket pot which is seldom seen a couple of months ago for a steal!

I did ask my husband today if we should feel a tad guilty for buying things cheaply from people who have no idea what they are selling. My husband told me to shut up (nicely) He said they should do their research before selling stuff. I have been smiling all week so I don't think I feel guilty really ;D  Has anybody else felt a bit naughty or do people think as my husband does?   Cheryl

Think I was a bit tired when I wrote that last night, I think getting a bargain piece of glass is what keeps us trawling round car boots and charity shops usually in the rain  ;D Any way my husband is ALWAYS right about everything (because he told me so)  :24:   Cheryl

Thanks for posting pics, they are lovely.  This is my favorite type of glass, Theres not much around usually at prices I can afford. I think thats why I started collecting other types of glass too.   Cheryl
