You have prompted me to examine mine and from the base rim it also appears to be 3 layers ! 8)

Oh, was just plodding through Miller's Collecting The 1960s and there's a photograph of your lamp in yellow (yours looks lime green on my monitor).
It's Italian, unknown manufacturer, but is apparently borrows liberally from a design by Italian architect Tobia Scarpa for Flos. Estimate: £120-150. :D
Thanks Nic -
I've only just seen your response to this made back in Feb.
Tobia Scarpa ! well thats a name to conjure with ! .....but Flos. ????
Any joy with ID on your orange one ? http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3510.0.html
Separating this as thread got a bit long............and
Just found this site for AV Mazzega where the Maestro is blowing something very similar to mine..... http://www.avmazzega.com/Pagine%20HTM/AVMazzega%20-%20Fornace.htm

Now found some of their current lighting catalog
Click on the lamp http://www.avmazzega.com/Pagine%20HTM/AVMazzega%20-%20Design.htm

I never found anything out about my lamp. I just mentally settled on Italy.
Italy is for unidentified glass lamps what Poland is for lemonade sets! :D
There are some very nice lights on the AV Mazzega site, shame they're mostly all white, though. No one wants to be daring with lighting anymore! Not that I'm one for making sweeping statements!
Edit:
Oops... just noticed a typo in my message you quoted.

Should be:
...but it apparently borrows

Tobia Scarpa (son of Carlo) designed for Venini from 1958 - ?
A range of Venini lamp shades is shown in
1950's Modern Price Guide - (Treadway) Auction Results of the 1990's. These are are mainly white or striped / "a cane".
If anyone is interested you may find some on the Treadway website.
Nic - What does "Flos." mean ?
-
Flos is a v. well respected Italian lighting company - and I think they're still in business. I will search for a website!
Ah, easypeasy:

Flos
Thanks - I hadn't heard of them ! but ....
In 1974, Flos became the owner of Arteluce
Now Arteluce is a name I know. Must have kept the name as I'm sure I was drooling over Arteluce catalogues in the mid 80's
No designs in current range like mine ....
