Hi, Jean. :hi:

Your little doggie is really cute!  I think the ears a bit too upright for a poodle; perhaps more terrier/chihuahua or the like.  If we have a "Name that Dog" contest, my choice would be Pickles .....  :pb:

Sorry I don't have any real info for you.  Like you, I am waiting for others to post.

Your little dog gave me a good smile today!

Thanks .... Lily  :sun:

Does the "sticky out bit" have a hole in it?

????(http://www.debook.com/gifs/Maildunno.gif)????

Could he/she be a Circus Dog?  click HERE (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7o2GUXce9JU/RzFQOhjRTPI/AAAAAAAAACw/8yOa6R-QJug/s320/circus+dog+big+dog.png)

You know one of those ruffled things around its neck -- like in the above pic.  Maybe that is the type of Dog it is suppose to be to - ears standing up....as quite often those types of Dogs are Circus Dogs.

Just guessing here....sounds good "Pickles the Circus Dog..."

I think you have the right idea, Rose! :rah:

The reason I asked about the hole in the collar came from the possibility "Pickles" may have been part of a 'family' (yes, baby Pickles ....  :chky: ) of three with little chain leashes connecting them.

Anita has taught me to look at feet.  However, I don't know enough to say anything more than Pickles does indeed have 'feet'.

By the way, is that a bit of white on Pickles' back?

Unfortunately, any additional photos right now would be for my own enjoyment rather than further help for you (from me :'( ).  I feel certain Anita will check in when she is able.

I'm never much help with this kind of dog. I'm torn on this one. It has the egg yolk eyes that are like some of the older Murano dogs of unknown parentage. But it legs and body remind me of some of the ICET dogs. I'm not sure which this is.

Thanks, Anita! :kissy:  I didn't mean to put you on the spot; you just have an eye and feel for little glass critters.

Here are 3 examples from a quick eBay search under "Murano Glass Dogs".  (Of course, just cause they are there doesn't mean they are Murano).  I just thought for comparison purposes, they might be useful.

No problem at all, Lily. I don't mind being on the spot, even though I usually don't know who made most animals. So many companies made animals that look alike.

The dog in your first link looks to be Murano. The second link I have no idea -- maybe Murano glass. The third dog needs to be carefully wrapped and put in the circular file. What a dreadful little fellow! Sometimes I see animals like this and figure it doesn't matter who made them because they are so awful. But I guess if we see it as a stray mutt that struggled in out of the freezing rain, it makes it lovable. It had to be tough to survive.

ICET Arte Murano is glass that is made in Venezuela in the style of Murano glass. The chemistry of the glass is much the same, though the sand probably is different. ICET models many of its pieces on ones that were made in Murano. They make dogs that look like this. The most popular ones are the dogs with a collar that has one extension going down toward the right leg. I'll try to find a listing for this one. They are often listed as murano. I haven't seen an ICET dog like yours. The glass on the legs just reminded me of their work.
