Title: Unique Golden Yellow Whitefriars Banjo for sale
Post by: WhatHo! on March 20, 2012, 07:36:54 PM
What Ho! I have a unique banjo for sale, made as a 1 off in an Uncatalogued WF colour.
It has excellent provenance as comes from an ex-Whitefriars worker. This banjo was looked at by 2 eminent ex-Whitefriars employees at the last Cambridge Glass fair and concluded that its was made from either glass from the stained glass dept or from a paperweight cane pot.
It is in superb condition with no damage. There is a slight opaque streak near the ground pontil where an impurity has come off the iron. There is a few bubbles and odd bits of frit in the glass but this is all quite normal.

I have photo'd it next to a Tangerine brick for comparison.

If you are serious Banjo collector this will be your only chance to purchase one like this and as you would expect it wont be cheap.

If you are interested contact my email glassaspirations@aol.com

I am well known around glass circles, kind regards Wolfie

I'd quite like a fake one - you know - looks pretty much the same but costs a lot less!
It is rather a lovely beast, I have to say.  8)

That colour is gorgeous! Pity they didn't make it as standard!

I wish you luck - I like Sue, could only afford a f*** one!

I think this really is something quite exceptional. It's the first piece of textured wfs I have fallen in love with.
I think the die-hard wfs collectors might have unexpected competition from outside on this one.
If money were no object, I'd be in the running.
I wish you well on this Wolfie!
