Not a 'beak vase', I do appreciate, but in view of the controlled bubble design I had high hopes this one might really be Holmegaard, and not Aseda which Ivo kindly gave as the id for my last 'bubbleless' vase. I know that Aseda pieces can have bubbles i.e. the bone vases for example, but am I correct in saying that in the main they do not have bubbles. Height is 275mm. Took me half the afternoon to clean out the inside, but had good results with my little copper balls, cerium oxide and 'Brasso'. Sorry, don't have the necessary books yet, but I'm getting nearer to them, I think. thanks for looking, and hope someone may recognize this piece. Paul S.

Were it Danish, it'd be Kastrup, rather than Holmegaard, who had a more prolific range of controlled bubbled wares - but it's not Danish.
Beyond that, no idea. Sorry.

no need to apologize :) it's kind of you to make the effort to reply, even though we're on the negative side of things for now. Fingers crossed, someone may yet recognize the design.

Hi paul, i would probably go with Aseda rather than Holmegaard, not definate but just has that Aseda look to it.

Maybe worth looking at Magnor, Norway?

Hi, had a look at a piece of Magnor next to an Aseda bit and your base is definitely more like Magnor than Aseda, cheers, David.

thanks to all for your help - and managed to arrive at ...http://www.wendelboe.no/kunst/utstillinger/2008/magnor/index.php?resultpage=6&.....posted by flying free, in response to something from Keith, I believe. There is a piece on page 4 or 5 which, although blue, is virtually a dead ringer. Great stuff, I've cracked another one. cheers. Paul S. :)
