Title: New collector - Need verification on early 1900s Fenton? pitchers
Post by: BUG on August 06, 2006, 11:57:19 PM
Hi, all.
My wife is new to collecting Fenton, and today was our first experience at a flea market.  Up until now, all her pieces are from dealers.  She got some pitchers, allegedly from the early 1900s (1906 on the pink, 1908-13 on the green).  We can't find these exact pitchers in any of her collectors books.

While she likes the pieces regardless of authenticity, we were hoping somebody could tell us if these were really 100 year old Fenton pieces?  Thanks, all for your time reading/replying.

See the pitchers HERE (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/BUG_TCG/fentonpitchers2.jpg).

Dear Bug, while the date of the pitchers is probably about correct I'd say a definate no on them being Fenton.

They are more likely to be victorian era bohemian. Still quite wonderful pieces!

For future referance a picture of the bottom of the item also would be helpfull, it can tell a whole lot sometimes ;)

I agree with Cat.

Neither are Fenton but as she said likely Bohemian.

The one on the left is not the right shape or coloration for Fenton.  Especially note how the thick foot attaches to the bulb of the body - not a Fenton shape.

The 2nd one is in a color that Fenton was not using at the time they made lemonade sets.
