Title: Car transfers
Post by: David E on February 03, 2008, 12:52:41 PM
I appreciate this is a live eBay listing, but it demonstrates my point about the use of 'open-stock' transfers as supplied by manufacturers.

The car transfers are known to have been used by Chance, but can be found decorating many other glassware from other manufacturers. In this case, Stratton probably did not make the glasses, but might have applied and fired the transfers.

At some point I may compile a list of the open-stock transfers used by Chance.

Stratton (glassware), based in Hatfield were importers table & ornamental soda-lime glass. They advertised decorated glass in the 60's. Not to be confused with Stratton the Jewellers.
