i have a tall curving vase, with lime green, white and aqua strands encased in clear glass ,it has a polished out pontil mark, could it be made by vicki lindstrand?
-
Welcome to the board. We can't help you without pictures, preferably take against a plain background: a side shot, a top shot and a base shot at least.
BTW it's Vicke Linstrand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vicke_Lindstrand

Christine,
You missed the "d" in Lindstrand. Amazing, the first mistake I've ever seen you make. You are human!
Christine is right about needing photos. Here's the Lindstrand that comes closes to your (Glass Lady) description. It would invariably have writing on the base, btw.

I make loads of mistakes David...

Few (a safer word than the "none" I should use) that I've noticed.

Which reminds me no end of Mike Hunter's work...... ???

The one on eBay isn't a Lindstrand, IMO.

Isn't Lindstrand usually marked?

langhaugh: The one on eBay isn't a Lindstrand, IMO. - I second that!
Anne: Isn't Lindstrand usually marked? - I believe there are quite a few unmarked Lindstrands around (maybe seconds I don't know)

I have seen an unmarked Lindstrand "seaweed" vase once...
But the one in the ebay link doesn't look like Kosta to me either -- reminds a little of >> this vase (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,46749)

I think you're right, Michael - the ebay one isn't Mike Hunter, far more likely a far eastern look-alike.

>> Here (http://www.ebay.de/itm/il9-Leonardo-gestreifte-Glas-Vase-drei-Farben-weis-grun-hellblau-H-16-cm-/290821922100?pt=Glas_Kristall&hash=item43b6565d34) is another one like in the previous ebay link, the seller claims it is from Leonardo (I don't know if Leonardo is only a retailer, or produces glass, too; but rather contemporary then).

Leonardo is sort of a general company name of reproduction-style stuff - glass and ceramics and little resin figurines.
-
Leonardo is a German wholeseller and they source their glass in China, Poland and the Baltic but usually their designs are theirs.

Ahhh right, that's handy to know, thank you. :)
