Title: Help with possible Murano Clown
Post by: trdhrdr007 on January 23, 2010, 10:56:16 PM
I bought what I was told was a Murano clown at an estate sale this weekend because the wife thought it was cute.  Now I'm wondering if it actually is a Murano piece, & if so what it might be worth.  The clown didn't have a label & it stands just under 9" high.  This was a fairly high end estate with a lot of older glass & porcelain so I'm hoping it's real.

I am no expert with figures but this doesn't look right to me. I suspect it is Chinese but one of the others will most probably set you straight.

I have a collection of very similar clowns and one has a Murano label on the hat.  I can't seem to post a picture but same hands, feet, face etc.

xx

First: Welcome trdhrdr007!  :)
This clown made by Joska in Bodenmais / Bavaria looks quite similar:
