Title: Where is it from: No 3 - signed, ID = Adam Aaronson
Post by: josordoni on July 28, 2006, 09:41:38 PM
This is lovely modern looking one - signed but I can't find anything for any of my readings of the signature.  I got quite a good photo of the signature, so I hope someone can tell me who it is.

This might be one of the Australian "aboriginal" designs that I mentioned in Nancy's message at:

Unfortunately I still cannot locate the information I had on those.

It looks like Aesom but I can't find a glass artist of that name, but it is a given name  :?

I was only talking to someone about these a week ago. Where did you find it?

I didn't make very many and they were all signed and dated. They were all what I call one off, but now seems to be known as 1/1. Some were nicer than others. I did the spiral (tribal series, incidentally so Aboriginal not far off!)  by torch-work, like lamp-work but worked hot onto the hot glass on the iron, from a fine cane. Quite tricky to do and easy to mess up!

Thanks Adam!

It was in a mixed lot of weights I bought at auction a while back.  I have so many, most of them ordinary mdina/chinese but this one took my fancy and I pulled it out to investigate.

You are welcome to buy it back if you like!   8)
