hi again
still learning about p/ws!
can anyone give me any pointers on this one please?
its smaller than the usual ones I get, 2.25 inches wide x 1.75 inches high
Does the central star-like cane or that odd orange one in the second outer ring give any clues to the maker?
thanks for your indulgence

Looks like a Murano to me.

thank you Allan, so a country found
can you say how to tell - mainly so I stop having to ask! is it just experience & handling?
does that odd orange striped cane have any relevance?
thanks

Dear Mel,
One good way to identify a paperweight and its maker is to look at the canes (if it is a millefiori weight). Here the canes are typically Murano - both in shape and in colour - (and in this case, I suspect that they are Fratelli Toso).
Just keep trying, it will come...

Hi Mel
Older Murano like this are easy to identify by the spikey canes
