Hi there, i have this little dish that i would like some confirmation on. I have been told its Murano Latticino/Zanfirico & Aventurine Glass, but when i check i always have my doubts. Mainly because of the colours and actual design. Most of the Murano Latticino/Zanfirico & Aventurine Glass have intricate lines in theyre twist but my ones are plain orange with plain white fills and plain black twirls. Any help would be great. Thanks

It's not aventurine; there are no copper-coloured sparkly bits. Can we see a base pic. The colours look awfully unsubtle for older glass.

Yeah thats what i thought. I know there was something missing from the pics i have saw. I remember the little ribbons of copper shining through the twirls.

I don't think it's latticino/zanfirico either to be honest. In fact the pattern almost looks painted on, rather than filigree strands encased in the glass?
Click here (http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/auctions/salv051009b_bowl%20(3).jpg) for a pic with zanfirico + aventurine for comparison.

Yeah i agree Wayne. I noticed that when i found they dishes. I never found one with such simple strands like mine. the TKMaxx made in china sticker must of slipped off lol.

Wayne, if you look at that picture of the base, you can see that the pattern is formed by twisted canes embedded in the glass rather than just painted on.

Hi Cathy, I see what you mean. The little shadows where the canes twist give it away don't they? Silly me for missing that! :spls:

It's still gaudy. :)

Moving this to Murano, to see what they say there. It might well need moving again afterwards.
