Title: Swedish glass question ID = Hanne Dreutle for Studio Ahus

Hi
This is my first post and I'd really like to have some info on the blue glass bowl that I bought at auction recently.  I have found out so far it's from Studio Ahus in Sweden 1987 and is either made or designed by Hanna Dreutler and Arthur Zirnsack.  The last bit of the info on hte base is "Prov" and I'm not sure what that means.  Can anyone shed some light on it ?  I'd also like to know if this type of itm is sought after or just beautiful to look at!

The addition "Prov" means "test" - so it is a single piece, not from a series. Other glassworks use the word Unik or Unikat for that. 
The piece is made an designed by Hanne, who is married to Arthur and uses both names.
I'm not sure if Hanne's work is being avidly collected, but in itself this is a fabulous piece of Swedish art glass, signed et all, by one of the most achieved glass artists in the country. Hanne was originally from Germany and worked for Maleras, Flygsfors and Kosta before she went to Studio Glashyttan in Ahus in 1977.

What is really noticable and also worthy of comment, (apart from the sheer beauty of Lyn and Ross's piece) is the clarity of the signature.  I wish all glass artists would take note.....especially studio glass artists who's work may well become the collectables of the future.

I have a pair of lamps by her. Made at Kosta in the first half of the 70's.

That's yummy Emil....if I was going to collect any glass other than birds and animals,  it would be that sort....and I love the Danish Teak furniture as well....I think I was a Scandinavian in a previous life,  I love all things Scandi,  but that lamp is truly beautiful.

Hi Rosie, as you collect scandi birds etc I thought you might light to see a little bird I bought at the same time as the blue bowl.  It is Kosta made in the sixties and designed by vivke lindstrand. Have look at my Facebook link below. It's lovely with etched wings and a long tail.

That is a beautiful bird Lyn, I have seen Vicke's hedgehogs and giraffes, but not birds.....how elegant with that beatiful long sweeping tail.  Thanks for sharing that. :kissy:

"Prov" means sample/test, please note that it is not the same as Unik or Unikat.
