Post by: adam20 on July 10, 2012, 11:55:36 AM
Just boughta 12" high vase of good colour with amber green and green cased in clear glass - very heavy and of good quality - smooth polished to base and not marked - Possible Skrodlovice?

Thanks Adam

Good quality Czech "hutni sklo" hand made glass, not Skrdlovice but Karlovarske Sklo - Mstisov, these have certainly been seen with Karlovarske labels, see other GMB threads for the history of the factories,

Sorry for typo, should be Skrdlovice. So has new info come out since 09 as this thread gives a Skrdlovice ID.

And this website

I do see the Karlovarske pieces but confusingly also Skrdlovice IDs

Yes  new information means a Skrdlovice ID for this vase is inaccurate and Karlovarske Sklo is correct. I had real trouble persuading people of this a couple of years ago until i found labelled examples with the Karlovarske label, since then the Skrdlovice pattern books have been made more available and the absence of this vase in them, confirms indirectly the Karlovarske attribution, though the style of glassmaking is similar, it is not Skrdlovice,
