Dartington Glass: The First Twenty Years, 1967-1987 (incorporating Wedgwood Crystal 1983-1987)
The Art of Frank Thrower

Authors:  Linda and Stuart Smithson
212 pages
ISBN: 978-0-9556095-0-3

An illustrated chronological guide to all Frank Thrower's design for Dartington and Wedgwood giving measurements, references numbers and colour ways. Other designers are included as appropriate.

Gives a brief introduction to Dartington Glass and the people involved and to Wedgwood Crystal.

Everything Dartington produced during those 20 years is illustrated with lovely clear photographs. The Wedgwood section is similarly comprehensive (Dartington involved stuff only) but includes some catalogues photos.

Many of the photos are black and white but that doesn't matter because many of the ranges were only produced in clear during this period. All the colours used in this period are shown somewhere.

An invaluable reference to all early Dartington collectors based on the authors' personal acquaintance with Dartington and it's products. They live in Torrington and Peter Smithson was one of the first apprentices to be taken on.
