I'm curious to know who painted the portrait of Alexander Hardie Williamson reproduced in Andy McConnell's excellent book? And where it is? Unfortunately, there's no caption. I've tried the National Portrait Gallery's on-line collection without success. Can anyone here help?

Max could probably ask him - give her a mail

Hi Heidi - I emailed Andy about a couple of Orrefors flasks I'd bought yesterday and although he answered, he said he was rushed off his feet, so I don't like to email him again so soon. I'll have a look at the book and see what I can come up with tomorrow - meanwhile, perhaps someone else can shed some light? :) :)
-
Thanks, Max - much appreciated. No great rush - just satiable curteousity. :)

The picture credits on p.256 lists page 126, top left, as Broadfield House.

Well found Robbo :)
Just let me know if you want a picture of this, Heidi.

Thanks, Robbo - well spotted. I'd seen the picture credits at the beginning of the book and stupidly assumed that was all there was ::)
Yes, please, David, if you happen to be making a trip to BH. Hopefully they'll know who painted it too. The style reminds me of someone, but I can't think who.
