Title: Monart Lighting Catalogues
Post by: Frank on February 26, 2005, 10:47:01 PM
The latest Journal of the Glass Association has just been published and includes Ian Turner's article on Monart lighting. This article is illustrated with the hand drawn outlines of shades and lampbases.

I would be interested to hear the views of others on this article.

ok - excellent article.

Also useful for comparing Paul's handwriting (particularly for upper case "P") on the design sheets and the lettering seen on some of the Monart labels which were added by the shipping staff (Betty Reid + others) :!:

Ian clarified the remark about Paul Ysart being responsible for the Monart shapes - he had been told so by Paul but had no supporting evidence until now.

He is now working on a follow up article on the original glassware shape drawings.
