Title: Whitefriars pinecone Meadow Green
Post by: lyndhurst44 on March 18, 2008, 01:04:08 PM
Hi,
I managed to win what I am sure is a Whitefriars Pinecone vase this morning on Ebay. The colour looks like Meadow Green but I have never seen one in this colour before. Has anyone else? or is it perhaps an experimental piece. The vase was poorly discribed and put in the wrong section with no Gallery photo tut tut and I managed to get it for £36, just made it with a second to spare!.
Cheers,
Bryn

This must be pattern number 9731 and was made in Meadow Green, a highly sought-after colour.Well done. But a photo would be nice just to confirm it.  Emmi

Thanks Emmi,
I will try to add a photo when vase arrives. I added a new Broadband Hub yesterday and what a nightmare that was, just couldn't get it to work. I spent 2 hours on the phone to a call centre in India. I got totally cheesed off and so did they. I closed the computer down and left it for a couple of hours and then restarted it and remarklably it worked but now only 1 of my 8 USB ports works and thats connected to the hub. Now I have been unable to download any photos from my camera or upload to my Ipod. My son is a Computer analist so I hope he will be able to fix it. That's enough of my inane drivel. Have a nice day :spls: ;D

hi Bryn,
We all want to see it.   How about a link to the Ebay listing. We can then see what we MISSED,
Regards Patrick.

Hi Patrick,
I managed to download a picture from the auction, as the item is now mine I shouldn't be infringing anyone's copywright should I? Here it is anyway taking a nap  Hope it comes through, I've been under the weather and haven't listed for many months.
Cheers,
Bryn

Bryn, yes you are breaching their copyright. You own the item not the photo. Can you provide a link to the listing rather than the pic itself please?

Your right Christine, but it will look really spectacular when it opens up in the summer. ::)
Thanks everyone for your help. I have a lot of spare time on my hands at the moment and Ebay gets a lot of my attention during the times when most people are at work.
Cheers,
Bryn

Is bobbly glass a technical term?  ;D

No wonder not many people bid on it. It's sideways.

It's amazing how many people haven't discovered the rotate picture option you have in the simplest of photo programs

Not only do they not know how to rotate their image, their packing leaves a lot to be desired too. I had a shock when the postman called this morning, firstly because I was not expecting a parcel today but secondly when I realised what it was. :o :spls: It had been packed into a 2" deep box with lid which covered half the unprotected vase, the lid  held to the base by 2 strips of packing tape leaving much of the vase in view which had been pushed into an exact fit jiffy bag!
Amazingly it survived the journey intact and looking great but HOW!. When I think of all the fuss I make in packing it makes you wonder. Firstly the box must be sturdy, then I usually cover the item in tissue then  numerous layers of small bubble wrap, then possibly large bubble  and then surround the "mummy" in the box with polystyrene chips, and always remembering to fragile tape the box .
How lucky am I! Phew!!! :spls2:

:o :o Perhaps you were lucky cos the post people could see what it was. You won't be adding them to your list of favourite sellers then? But at least you have a whole vase and we can have some better pictures

Hmm, "Better photos" now that's another story Christine. But I think I will take that problem to the cafe.
