Title: Help with descriptive terms & ID on one-is it Murano? TI
Post by: jidoba on June 10, 2006, 01:31:46 AM
I'm new to this board, so hi everybody!

The first 2 I know are Murano but I needed some help with terms to describe the blue sparkles inside this one. Is it referred to as aventurine?

This one looks like it has blue clouds on the inside of the glass.

This last one I think is Murano, it has a partial label, rectangular with a silver background & yellow or gold in the center. The bowl itself has controlled bubbles that,  coupled with the gold flecks inside, create a quilted effect. Is it Murano?

Thank you for looking!

Hi Karla,
You are right on the 1st having Aventurine in it.
The 2nd is Opalescent glass, and the 3rd is Murano by Alfredo Barbini.

Thank you very much, Javier!

Now I must take back all the ugly things I've said about my local goodwill never having anything of value :D

I appreciate your taking the time to answer my questions. Have a great week!
