If the shape and size is consistent with a Chance diamond dish (9½ x 6 inches, 24 x 15cm), then a very strong candidate :D

Fantastic! This looks to be like the decoration from one of the variants shown in the photo on p58. Very rare and it shows that 'Cut Pearl' wasn't always a static design (if this item can be categorised as such).

Peter Knowles' dish (opposite page) is another such example that 'broke the rules'.

Great find

9½" x 6" it is David.  My find of the week methinks. :)

I'm sure it's Chance - I am not aware of any other company producing intaglio work from opal-flashed flat glass.

Find of the century, even? ;)

Please tell me this is *not* find of the week - I've just sold one of those for not much money :(

Chloe, was it exactly the same pattern? There are several variants (none of them are common though.) Did you by chance keep a photo of yours?  I bought mine in Kendal Cumbria.

I never photographed as I put them in my antiques centre and they sold the next day!  The other one was the same pattern as well, but more oval (looked more like a strawberry)

I am fairly relaxed about these things - it was the first time I knew Chance existed, and have kept some nice Fiesta and swirl pieces for myself.  At least I know what to look for now  :)

Nice one Ming!

I've merged yours into the earlier topic about cut pearl so we can try and keep the shapes and patterns together for ease of reference.  :X:
