Any more progress on Chance glass id since I've been away - I have continued collecting
Many pieces but here are some interesting ones any idea on who designed or design name
Adam
-
Oh yes Adam, David's been working hard on all this and has published his first book on Chance Glass already - Chance Expressions: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,18362.0.html and the second one is in the pipeline.
From top to bottom yours are: Sovereign Rose (1972); Regency Gold (1972); Gold Spray (1970) - this one is fairly uncommon; and the bottom one isn't Chance at all but one of the other slumped glass makers, don't know who though. It looks very 50s with those atomic swirls. David might know more about it though. All the Chance facts above sourced from David's book Chance Expressions.

Thanks Anne for the ID
Excellent links and I must buy that book as I have a lot of chance glass including handkercheif vases
-
Is this chance if so what is it called
And also this is a boxed isle of man centenary cellebration plate - I know its chance as it is labelled
Finally below, I know this one. Everybody does!
-
The one with blue flowers is Honeysuckle.
-
Cheers :D
-
Nice to see you back Adam.
The handkerchief vase is the Cordon pattern in purple.
The last pattern is called Filigree.
-
Thanks David
I also have many large Handerkcheif vases like this blue aqualux rolled
And many floral aptterns as below
-
The term 'Aqualux' should not really be used for the rolled-plate items, unless it is definitely from the 1939 range - trouble is, this range never really saw the light of day and disappeared soon after, making it extremely rare. I have yet to find a piece that is definitely Aqualux, but the search goes on. So this posy bowl could have been produced anytime from the mid-1960s right into the 1980s.
My new book, Chance Additions (see www.chanceglass.net), really does examine the Aqualux range in close detail now that catalogues have surfaced. Hopefully this will encourage people to know what to look for now :X:
Your second piece is from the Summer range from 1968. Not often seen, but like most of the realistic floral design it is not very collectable.

Some more Chance - at least I think
