HI Jacky

This type of glass is know as Chalcedony or Calcedonio Glass which is only used by about 3 or 4 furnaces in Venice.  It is in quite short supply and only available at certain times of the year when th raw ingredients are readily sourced.  The colour occur due to natural mineral elements in the raw materials but a stunning sculpture none the less

If the master glassmaker is Dalla Valentina, the price should be pretty high. Not less than 4000 Euro retail price.
Up to some years ago, this master glassmakers was used to name "Linea Valentina" the entry level products (anyway with high quality standards), like filigree bottles, small bowls and similar piece.
Than he used his own name for more complex pieces in an higher price range. Pretty famouse his tourtle shells made with big murrina glass or his multicolor compositions for glass fish.
For sure of the calcedonio scultures there is the Dalla Valentina signature.

Sincerely

Not easy to resell to a re-seller ;-)
These items are in production, therefore a local professional dealer can buy them at wholesale pricing, no reason to buy an old one from a private collector.

My advices are
1) try to sell to another private collector. For sure you can sell for a price closer to the market value
2) in USA there several galleries and auction houses specialized on the secondary market.
Often they work on a commission base on you final price (example 30% for them).
Rago is one of them.

Hi,
I found these 3 auction houses in your country.
I really don't know them, but you can try contacting them.

http://www.dvc.be
http://monsantic.com
http://www.campocampo.be/
They have specific part of their website for glass.
If you check the videos of the DVC, they have a lot of glassworks available.

Obviously there is ebay, as main retail market...

Hi,
of course if I will have any other idea, I will let you know.

I have my own glassmaker for Calcedonio glass and in case I will need, I can easly buy them directly here in Murano.

Imho in your case you should look for a Consumer2Consumer deal.
B2C works, B2B works, C2C works, but C2B doesn't work :-)

How tall is that piece?
I have never "traded" with Nason, but this is a very popular item. I can verify the retail value easly.
