Title: 'Inserts' ID needed
Post by: David555 on March 20, 2006, 10:25:34 PM
Hi

I have been asked by someone to ID these items – They must have googled the ‘Boda Frost’ inserts thread link (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2694.0.html) and thought these were similar. I don’t think they necessarily are – can we help this person – those are three nodules that I presume are used to slot into a receptacle.

They look like the inserts my mother-in-law uses in her silver candlesticks, to catch drips of wax and save her the trouble of cleaning the candlesticks so often

Thanks Leni

One possibility - I asked the owner about size, etc.

They are 2 1/2 inches tall and 5 almost 6 inches across.  Those three
nodules are just bumps.  Like they would elevate this dish just a tad to
keep glass off of glass.

Hope this helps.

Owner has emailed me ref these inserts

I am bumping it up again for any last gasp ideas on actual use and manufacturer.

I actually think these could be scientific glass inserts for an older type condenser - the nodules show the inserts touch the vessel very closely - not enough space for ice (domestic chill bowls for caviar).

Last calls - any notion appreciated
