Hi Experts,
I need some help with the ID of this lovely glass flat fish.
It's a well designed piece so I believe it may have some degree of quality.
It is in a rich deep green colour, 5" long and 1.5" deep. It has a lovely stylized shape and looks very Scandinavian maybe? It has some degree of base wear which could date it to around the 1970s.
I did a Google search with not luck what so ever.
Any input would be most welcome.
Finger crossed

Hi John,
Added four more pictures - Sorry I'm new to this site and didn't know I could up load more pics.
My gut feeling is that it's Scandinavian or German and about 1970s or lates 60s.
could be a paperweight?
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards
Tom

Intriguing, nice fish. Sorry I can't help but be patient, sometimes it can take a while for information to emerge.

Could this possibly be a Blenko piece? I remember seeing a flattened Strawberry paperweight on eBay ages ago by Blenko, and the way this fish is made reminds me of it.

Hi Rosie,
I did a quick 'Blenko Fish' search on Google and it seems to show hollow form fish not solid glass like my fish.
BUT - Blenko I see did do a solid glass bookend Owl which is much like my Fish in style and colour.
Thank you for your input.

Tom, the more I look at this the more I think I've seen one like it but can't recall where. What part of the world are you in? That might help narrow things a bit.

I'm in the UK so we have all type of European & international
Vintage glass to choose from.
Not sure if that helps.

I've been looking at more Blenko glass, bookends this time, and although haven't found your fish, there is a distinct style similarity. I am off to look at the Scandi stuff now...there is a Skruf flat fish, but it has much more detail on it.... Onwards... :)
