I am trying to id another piece of my glass and came across this which has some similarities- I wondered if anyone recognised the label as being Cenedese? Just wondering because the ad has it written in italics indicating it may be an attribution rather than a definite identification.

Yes, the label is Cenedese, but the years are wrong. Cenedese didn't open until 1946. This type of label was used in the 1960s, so the vase is simply a 1960s opaline vase. Nothing by Cenedese can qualify as antique until the middle part of this century.

Many thanks Anita. Yes I'm always surprised that people use the word 'antique' so freely >:D

Hi All..................About the only thing I could add is that Cenedese re-issued this label in the early 1990's! The original labels from around the 60's were foil on paper and the ones from the 90's had no paper backing! Hope this helps............................Jerry

Good thing to know, Jerry. My books stop in the 1980s for most companies. I'll add the tidbit of information on so I won't assume anything with the label is 60s glass.

Hi All.......................Here is a picture of two vases with the re-issued labels....................Jerry

Thank you Jerry.
