Thanks to a recent, astonishing "find" by Della, it looks like we are going to be re-writing some sections of glass history again.
The condensed version of this fascinating discovery is this:- Della found a marigold water set that had a golden paper label attached to the pitcher. I investigated it, and was shocked and thrilled at what was emerging. Della has taken more photos and together we have the full story in a feature that you can see here:

My bit was the easiest bit, Glen. You did all the hard work :!:
So it is definitely hats off to YOU :!: :!:
Thank you Paul, Christine, Max and Frank for your kind words. :)

Does Della get to name the design?
-
Gosh! How interesting and what a pretty jug and glass set also ... very decorative - congrats to you both.
-
Does Della get to name the design?
Yes Frank - she does - that's the convention. The choice of pattern name is entirely Della's.
Glen
ps I'll add a YESSSS to Della's comment that we were excited. Very, very excited. I'm still "high".

This is another excellent example of the use of the internet at its best - doing what it was originally envisaged to do ... providing shared information for all who may be interested.
Well done. :D
-
Kev, you are right. Absolutely right.
Hats off to J.C.R. Licklider and Tim Berners-Lee. How often do we stop and think about the invention of the internet. The availability and easy exchange of information has been a revelation for glass research.

And what a great name, Della!
I believe Inwald did Carnival too.
-
Sue - yes Inwald made a lot of Carnival - as did Rindskopf (both Czech manufacturers). But Kralik was totally unexpected - and such a fabulously elegant set too. And you have to love that golden label.
