here is the signature

The style is very similar to what you usually only see on Hadeland pieces - so I'm guessing that's what the Had '54 means - Hadeland 1954.
don't recognise the initials of the designer though.

a closer look at the sig and it could easily be engraved hdl, which could mean hadeland, does anyone know if this is how they signed their work?
but it also looks like hall,it depends on whether it an al. or a d.

i googled hadeland and there was a thread on here started by ivo in 2005,where it was confirmed that hdl was used to portray hadeland, who was k.s. though?
this is the thread.http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?action=printpage;topic=2961.0

Good spot - further down you get the following comment:
I've found a similar piece signed KS 628 Hdl 54 - KS is Knut Steen.

Nice work on the ID Malcyp and Taylog! :D I'd never heard of Knut Steen before. Although we've got an ID now, I'll leave this here for a while in case folks want to add additional info. :)

thanks max,
i have been looking for info about knut steen on the internet, and there is a sculpter or artist by that name, but he only worked for hadeland for a short time in the 90's,is he the son of the engraver? or is this piece fairly modern and wasn't made in 1954?
