Sorry to add to this thread, but each time I click on Flicks' link, I get booted offline Anne.  Right off of AOL in fact...any idea what's causing that??

I didn't know why Max, but Barry suggests it's to do with the .net framework support on your PC. Apparently to use MSN, which is where Flick's link goes, you need to sign in (the MSN passport thing) and that uses the .net framework. He suggests that you need to either uninstall the .net framework (via add/remove programs) and then reinstall it from Windows Update > Custom Installation and select it for installation,  or go direct to Windows Update and see if that picks up an update for .net framework and if so, to install that and it should solve the problem for you. Hope this helps but feel free to e-mail if you get stuck, etc. :)

Ahhhh that's interesting... Barry says he believes that .net only works for validated users, so if you have not validated your Windows XP it will not work for you hence you get kicked off. Whether it is an AOL-only problem or whether it affects others using XP unvalidated I don't know.... it works fine for me on the Windows 2000 machine (but not using AOL) as I just went and checked it out of curiosity.

When I click on flick's link, I get a page that offers ".NET Passport Wizard" with a first stage dialogue: "Add a .NET Passport to your Windows XP user account".

Maybe my version of XP is "activated" - but if so, it was done at the installation stage prior to me buying the pc with everything loaded.

I have no current desire to add a .NET Passport to my account and therefore will be unable to view any images (or anything else) that is set up within that environment.

One day we will have to take care to avoid any site connected to Microsoft, it would not be impossible for them to switch your Windows off if they decide you do not pay for your software. I always use corporate versions of Microsoft software as the knobbling only exists in retail versions, with corporate versions you can even use use Windows update without fear
