Title: ID Murano (?) bowl

I found this bowl at a fleamarket for a few francs! It is a honey- coloured, thin-walled vase with a foot created as part of the blowing process (see second image), i.e. not stuck on separately. The pontilmark is not polished. The glass shows irregular thin lines and a few imperfections as a result of the turning process while being blown. Judging by the beautifull sheen of the surface it looks like good quality glass. In my memory there are shapes like these in Murano vases from the 1930s or so. But I am not even sure that the vase IS Murano. Please, give me your opinion as to ID and perhaps even value. It measures 23,5cm in diameter and is 11cm high.

I agree that it is probably Venetian and made in a 1930s style. These type dishes are so difficult to attribute, so you may not be able to determine exactly who made it. Wish I could be of more help. My first two guesses for the bowl would be Cappellin and VA Barovier, but they are big guesses.

I located several Cappellin things in this color, so I believe it is a good possibility for your bowl.

Boy - have I got lots more to learn about Murano glass. 

When I saw this, the first thing that popped in my Head was *Blenko* -- but I guess I am so far out in  left field --- I am OFF the Map...

Bowls like this are hard to tell. I thought it was probably Venetian because of the pontil scar. Plain glass is so elegant, but what makes it elegant makes it difficult to attribute once the label is gone. Most of the Blenko I've seen has the B, but it probably isn't true for all of it.

What country are you from, cpccpc? The word assumption has a different meaning than what I think you mean. No assumptions were made, only some guesses.
