I wonder if you - or anyone else - can shed any light on this bright yellow clear cased lookalike?

Ivo, there is a page on the site with some variants. Maybe it would be worth contacting them—there are some e-mail addresses and a contact form—they may have come across your version before  :D .

It's unlike anything else i've seen  :? .

Very interesting - a few notches larger than mine (16cm)  but there is a distinct family resemblance. Smacks more of Wayne Husted than of Holmegaard but is most likely nun of the abuv. My current top three is 1. Swedish 2. Italian 3. German.

There are a couple more (in blue and black) the same as the eBay one which have been catalogued as German

Brilliant - thanks for keeping an open eye.  He's a well reputed dealer, and I can well believe his attribution as 'German - ca. 1970"
