Title: Is this an old Holmegaard Kluk Kluk?
Post by: dirk. on September 18, 2011, 02:36:31 PM
Hi,

found this decanter on my trip to Bremen a few weeks ago. The decoration seems to
match the ones displayed on Peter's site, but it's a bit taller than the ones shown there:
http://www.hardernet.dk/Stemware/Kluk_kluk_karaffel-Holmegaard_1840.htm
It´s ca. 33cm tall and 13.5cm wide.

TIA
Dirk

Looks okay to match the "kluk kluk" decanter design from 1900, technique was not the same at that time and it does seems that it is not perfect from shoulder and up and that can give the extra hight. Seems to me that it is one of the older Holmegaard kluk kluk.

Brilliant - thanks a lot, Peter!
The decanter makes a slight spiral twist and isn't too straight as well. Perhaps they were trying to safe the piece by elongating and de-twisting...  :)
