This is a heavy, highest quality little bowl with polished base, but lacking any signature. The Scandinavians were SO good about engraving names on these sorts of pieces (Kosta, Stromberg, Orrefors, Iittala, etc.), whereas the Italians with the exception of Venini virtually never signed with anything but paper labels. However, I'm not aware of Murano producers using this typically Scandi bubble technique. Could someone set me straight?
Thanks,
Charles.

heavy glass, air bubble, cut rim, simple shape, good quality, polished base - I think all points at Krosno. Too simple & straight to be Italian, insufficiently designed to be Nordic.
-
Well I call this simple and it has the acid etched Riihimaen mark on the bottom and is numbered.

I second the Poland vote - these bubble-based vases have been popping up in design / interior accessory shops for a while.
My branch of TK Maxx has some not dissimilar vases.
-
I third Polish, possibly designed by/for LSA International
-
I wasn't disputing that it was Polish, just showing that Riihimaki did make simple designs.
-
I know! I was just agreeing with the others. The Polish stuff I've knowingly encountered is nice quality

I agree. I saw a big LSA vase on Monday and at a distance it resembled Strathearn. Lovely quality when you looked at it.

Ivo said that it was too simple for Italian design, rather than Scandinavian.
-
Yesd I know but I took his insufficiently designed to mean more or less the same.
-
Oh, I took that to mean the overall style/form of it not quite being up to Scandinavian scratch, rather than the complexity or otherwise of the design.

Just goes to show how everyone reads things differently on message boards!
