Hi all,
I posted this question to a Swedish forum, but as there has been no response, I thought that I should try here instead.
We got this bowl (see link below) as a wedding present from my grand-mother, and she had in turn got it from her parents. I guess it was purchased sometime in the 30's or 40's, but that's just a guess.

The diameter is 24 cm and it is about 5 cm high. The gold decoration is enclosed in clear glass, and the glass in the middle circle is frosted on the underneath side.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Has a Bavarian, Czech look about it to me.

I would think Czech, especially seeing the feet and the gold decoration. I also would think this one is frightfully difficult to attribute.

Thank you for your replies, Paul and Ivo! I will keep looking, and hope that someone takes Ivo's statement as a challenge...

Hi, do you have a better image of the pattern on the frieze?
Thanks,
Marcus

Sure, let's see if I can get this picture thing working: ;)

Thanks.
The pattern of the frieze offers possibly the best chance of identifying a manufacturer, for such a generic shape. Sadly this is not one I have in any of my books here.
Apologies,
Marcus
