Title: Suggestions on how to find a complete set
Post by: Barmy on March 17, 2010, 02:33:45 PM
I've just started collecting British glass spirit measures in the last year.  I've tried to limit myself to Victorian era measures or carafes.  What I'm looking for is a complete set of measures.  That is a 1/4 gill, a 1/2 gill, a 1 gill, a 2 gill and a 1 pint measure.  My problem is I'm located in Canada (the location of most of these items is the UK).  Is there any place on the internet (that I haven't been able to locate yet) that might help me with my quest?

Thank you in advance

Hi Barry
Dont wish to put a damper on things but you may have some difficulty here if you wanting originals as i think you will find that in the main they were made of other materials (pewter/plated base metal) as opposed to glass.
Obviously glass examples do exist, and probably more in the medical/chemist line than spirit measure but i think you may struggle.
Best Wishes
