Title: Olive- green small iridescent vase

Bohemian olive- green small iridescent vase. Height: 7 inches. Gilded enamel décor Gilded enamel decor. Polished pontil, no signature.
Any suggestions regarding the maker?

Hello,have looked through my 'rose bowl' book and I think 'Bohemian' is probably the closest you're going to get,these bowls were made from the UK,USA and Bohemia,have a few myself and apart from one, no idea regards the rest,sorry,

Possibly ! But this one is typical Czech and comes from Bohemia i.e. Austria- Hungary Empire.

I would agree on Bohemia; that decor is typical. I don't think it's iridescent though; can't see any oil-film look, but I would guess it was uranium glass.

Some rose bowls were made in France by Legras - but this particular one is Bohemian, probably by Harrach'sche

It is iridescent (not well seen in the picture); it is not Anna – gruen (uranium glass). As for Harrach – I will research further, although it is a common piece. Polished pontil is the only thing that makes it a bit interesting regarding possible important maker. To polish a pontil took time and skill and was not very profitable for unimportant glass makers. I do not understand the comment. Bold letters are used only to add the information about what is not clearly seen in the picture. I do apologize if the rules of the forum are not to use bold letters, being interpreted as shouting.

Thanks for the smiles, Anne! What a coincidence – I used the term Anna Gruen for `` Uranium or Vaseline`` glass: Joseph Riedel added uranium salts to glass and achieved two wonderful colors he named after his wife Anna (Anna Gruen and Anna Gelb – green and yellow). He must have loved his wife Anna! The glass glows in ``black light`` (UV). We even used Geiger counter, but there was no radiation emitted from Bohemian ``art nouveau`` and `` Vaseline glass`` made in UK and USA at the turn of the century (19th -20th). Still, it contains very low percentage of uranium salts, in contrast with Biedermeier beakers with about 10 % of uranium salts ! Those mines in Czechoslovakia are closed now because the Russians exhausted uranium ore. People have seen mutated insects of unusual size and shapes living there. For that reason I never carry my Biedermeier beakers in pockets or let alone sleep with them in spite of their beautiful name.
