Title: Murano Fountain with Neptune and mermaids
Post by: bigskyrik on March 21, 2011, 02:14:45 AM
I purchased this fountain from an elderly lady. She purchased it in Murano in '72. Included with the fountain was an unopened original shipping box with extra glass pieces. I have seen similar fountains in this forum but, not with Neptune. I am trying to verify the maker and value of this work of art.

Just a question -- does any of it glow under a UV light?

Just wondering.... Beautiful, but out of my budget

Cool link, Bigskyrik!!   :sm:  I wonder if Fratelli Toso made this one.  FT made a lot of fountains in their day.  I hope someone comes along and knows for sure.

Hi guys

I would be leaning toward the Frateli Toso side of things also althought, Barovier and Toso also produced stunning items such as these in the early 20th century.  What a brilliant piece!

Ciao

Almost unbelievable piece of glass. Maybe it should be in a museum or at the very least a good private collection purely for its unique nature and condition.
