Vazia is a place in Italy, but I don't know if that helps much, Angela? It's also the Portuguese word for empty, which is even less helpful...

Cheers Anne....I wondered if it was the name of the pattern ? I have several pieces but none have any marks on them so this is the first I have seen...

Hmmmm it's not easy to see, is it, Angela, but from what I can see it doesn't look like a Z in the middle.... it could be a K or even an N... I suspect you might be on the right lines with ... VAKIA though.

It looks like the word is split up into parts in the mold.  So part of the word Czechoslovakia on one foot and part on another foot. (just in case for future reference), so perhaps the letters on the other piece didn't form properly from the mold leaving it with just VAKIA on one foot.

I have managed to get another piece of this pattern...it is a decanter with a lovely arrow head stopper (not as previously thought a perfume bottle its much too big) I assume this came with small glasses and possibly a tray ...it measures 6.5 inches wide and 8 inches high with stopper in.
