Oh look, a nice piece will be worth something to someone, even with the chips, especially if it is of sentimental value. It's just not worth a lot to the serious collectors.
My grandmother has had progressively more crippling arthritis (which she pronounces "Arthuritis") for about 40 years. She has lots of little mementoes of her childhood, friends and parents (who she still misses). Thanks to her arthritis they have all been broken, chipped, badly repaired, etc, but they mean an awful lot to her and most still look pretty (except the headless matador figurine and the great ugly Brittania metal double bowled flouncy fruit bowl thingy).
Kind regards,
Cathy.
