Help dating a small Louisburg bottle.
(1/1)
labarbedor:
I purchased this bottle from a museum, inside was a hand written note:
Louisburg, Cape Breton, 1911.
I presume it is 18th century French. Could anyone confirm this. Also I would be curious as to opinions of its value.
Thanks,
Ivo:
Much more likely to be Nova Scotia glass. It has been dug up by the looks of it - be aware that such a finish is achieved within a few years underground so it does not indicate great age. The model does not give much away either. There is no sensible answer to the "value"question, as the market would be limited to NS collectors. But dug up medicine bottles in general are not rare and the price will reflect this.
