Andy, it's not often I say this (usually the reverse in fact!  ;D) but could you upload larger pics to GlassGallery please?  Yours are quite small and it's hard to see details.  You can upload any image up to 1000 x 1000 pixels in size (200kb max filesize) and the Gallery will create an interim-size picture for the Gallery page but clicking the image there will open the larger version to allow a closer look.  Many thanks. :)

Sorry Ivo!  Forgot about that thread.  Thanks!

Wouldn't it be better at the top of Glass rather than the cafe though?

Thank you very much!

Andy,
I have looked at your images.
As you say, these could be Skrdlovice, certainly the blue one, which may be from the mid-1950s and designed by Frantisek Zemek, who designed there from 1952-1957. For that period you would need to contact the factory, as Zemek's work is not that well recorded in Czech publications.
Regards,
Marcus

Marcus,
Thanks, i really appreciate your help, i will keep doing the research ;)
I can see the fascination with the Czech glass, and as you say in a time when
things must have been very very hard!, and it seems mostly in really small towns and
villages!
Anne, i will spend an hour working out the photo problem, im not sure why i cant
get them bigger, but i will work it out. Size isnt everything you know ;D
Cheers all,
Andy

Andy, if you can't figure out what the size problem is, send me a sample by email and I'll take a look (email address to the left of the post behind the little white envelope.)

(BTW it's not the size it's the quality of the detail!  >:D)
