Do they not tend to have just broken pontil marks Cathy?
- this is polished, though squint.

Flowerpot?

That's what i thought Sue, possibly new product from Biot? and it does look like a plant pot.

Both Sues, true on both counts :). What about the lack of water holes though?

Modern design flaw?
(tendency nowadays for things not to be remotely fit for their purpose, or am I just feeling cynical?)

For use with air plants?
Add your own drainage beads to the compost?
For artificial flowers?
There doesn't seem to be any age-related wear to the base, and it does look very modern.

On another forum, Becky said it was inherited from an 84 year old - relative? And another member had suggested it was by Boda - Eric Hoglund, and seen something similar in a glass book?  I know  it's not Whitefriars (as I am sure you all do) !  emmi

im stumped ive had that many different suggestions, maybe she brought it in the last few years, there is a little wear to the base but i thought that was because she was careful. made me laugh though my hubby thought it was a beer glass, show all he thinks about!!

Definitely not Höglund, more Ikea - made in India, Romania, Poland or Hungary. The shape is contemporary, so is the colour which does indeed bear the faintest similarity to colours used by Biot. Needless to say, it is not Biot.
